I want to go to DC for college, but I don't know if I want to stay up north. I've lived in the south (Texas and Tennessee, and now Texas again) for most of my life. I lived up north before Tennessee (Pennsylvania) for about two years, and I liked it as a kid, but not so much now. I've been to many states north, south and west, but... South Pros: more diversity, friendly people, great food, beautiful landscape, beaches, i know my way around here, more family down here, nice drives on highways, different cultures Cons: border problems (Texas), some illegal immigrants in parts of town, really hot and humid, bad weather, (not a lot in Houston) but some homophobia, too religious for my taste North Pros: SNOW!, great place to raise small kids, nice weather, safer IMO, people up there actually drink Pepsi, some people say "pop" instead of soda ;), less integrated Cons: NO GOOD MEXICAN FOOD D:, crowded in some areas, some people up there used to make fun of me for being Texan, you can't wear the Confed. flag up their w/out starting something, less hospitality, (some) cities (like Harrisburg, PA) are sooo boring, small towns are really small...
